How to Use Merger JPG — Step by Step Guide
How It Works

Follow these six easy steps to combine your images into one. The whole process takes less than a minute.

From Upload to Download

1

Open Merger JPG in Your Browser

Go to the tool page on any device — phone, tablet, or computer. The tool works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. You do not need to install anything or create an account.

💡 Bookmark the page so you can find it again quickly.
2

Add Your Images

Click the blue “Choose Images” button or drag and drop your photo files directly onto the upload area. You can select two or more images at once. The tool supports JPG, PNG, and WebP file formats.

💡 You can add more images after the first batch — just drop them onto the zone again.
3

Review the Preview Thumbnails

After you add images, you will see a row of thumbnail previews with numbered badges. The number shows the order they will be merged. If you want to remove an image, click the small X button on its card.

💡 Each image shows its filename so you can keep track of which photo is which.
4

Choose a Layout Direction

Pick how you want the images arranged: “Side by Side” places them left to right in a row, “Stacked” places them top to bottom in a column, and “Grid” arranges them in rows and columns like a photo collage.

💡 Grid mode is best when you have 4 or more images and want a square-ish result.
5

Adjust the Settings

Use the settings panel to control the gap (space) between images, the output quality, background color, number of grid columns, and output file format. Default settings work great for most use cases.

💡 Set quality to 100% if you want the sharpest possible result. Use lower quality for smaller file sizes.
6

Click Merge and Download

Press the big blue “Merge Images” button. The tool will process your images instantly and show you a preview of the result. When you are happy with it, click the “Download” button to save the merged file to your device.

💡 The merged file will be saved to your Downloads folder with a unique timestamp name.

Understanding the Settings

Layout Direction

This controls how the images are placed next to each other. Side by Side is great for before/after photos. Stacked works well for tall portrait images. Grid is perfect for four or more photos you want in a neat collage.

Gap & Background

The gap slider adds space between your images. A value of 0 means they touch edge to edge. The background color fills any space around or between images — choose white for a clean look or black for a more dramatic frame.

Output Format & Quality

JPG gives you small file sizes with great visual quality — ideal for sharing. PNG is best when you need sharp edges or a transparent background. WebP is a modern format that offers good quality at tiny file sizes for web use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many images can I merge at once?
There is no hard limit set by the tool. You can merge as many images as your device has memory to handle. In practice, most people merge between 2 and 20 images at a time. Merging very large numbers of high-resolution photos may slow down your browser on older devices.
Does merging reduce my image quality?
Only if you choose a low quality setting. With the quality slider at 90% or above (the default is 92%), the result looks virtually identical to your original photos. If you need pixel-perfect quality with no compression, choose PNG format and it will save without any quality loss at all.
Do my photos get uploaded to the internet?
No — never. Merger JPG works entirely inside your web browser using a technology called the HTML5 Canvas API. Your image files are read directly from your device into your browser’s memory, processed there, and the result is saved back to your device. No file ever leaves your computer or phone.
What if my images are different sizes or shapes?
Merger JPG handles different image sizes automatically. In Side by Side mode, it scales all images to the same height while keeping their proportions. In Stacked mode, it scales to the same width. In Grid mode, it fits each image into equal-sized cells. The result always looks clean and balanced.
Can I use the tool on my phone?
Yes, absolutely. Merger JPG is fully responsive and works on any smartphone or tablet with a modern browser. On mobile, tap the upload area to open your photo library or camera roll. The layout adjusts to fit smaller screens, and downloading the merged image works the same way it does on desktop.
